Hi, I’m Sue Wright — author of How To Get Your Shit Together. These short, punchy episodes cut through the fluff to give you real talk, practical tools, and no-BS coaching. I’ve faced serious life storms and made it out stronger — now I help you build the mental grit to do the same. Raw, honest, and a little bit sweary (because sometimes nothing else hits quite the same). www.coachsue.co.uk

Compromise Is Not A Negative Thing
Friday Sep 10, 2021
Friday Sep 10, 2021
Let’s get something straight — compromise is not failure. It’s not “letting someone else win.” It’s not a sign of weakness or giving in.
In this episode, I talk about how compromise is actually a vital, grown-up part of navigating life and staying aligned with your goals. Sometimes, it’s the missing step that gets you there.
I share how taking a mental step back — reframing the situation, spotting signs and synchronicities, and staying flexible — can turn compromise into a strategic, positive move forward rather than something to resist.

Follow Your Gut Instinct & Keep Congruent
Monday Sep 13, 2021
Monday Sep 13, 2021
The last few days have been horrid — and the next few may be, too. This episode is a raw and honest reflection on what it means to stay congruent in the middle of heartbreak.
My horses are going downhill fast, and I know I’m going to lose them both. I'm sharing this not for sympathy, but to remind you that when life is crumbling, you must follow your gut. Don’t be swayed by the noise, opinions, or projections of others — even well-meaning ones.
Congruency is about showing up honestly, especially when you're hurting. It's okay to own your pain. You don’t have to put on a brave face when your world feels like it's falling apart.

Taking a Timeout
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
Tuesday Sep 21, 2021
This episode is just a brief message to say I’m taking some time out.
Last week, I lost both of my horses. My world has been thrown into turmoil, and my heart is shattered. There’s not much to take from this episode, other than a sincere thank you for being here, for listening, and for walking this journey with me.
I will be back — just not quite yet.
With love,
Sue xx

Navigating A Shit Storm: What I Have Been Doing
Wednesday Nov 03, 2021
Wednesday Nov 03, 2021
The last few months have been horrible. Six weeks on from losing both of my horses — my soulmates, my compass — I’m still deep in the grieving process. This episode is raw and real. It’s me, vulnerable, processing the storm that’s blown my plans and purpose to the four corners of the universe.
I share what grief has looked like for me: the panic attacks, the overwhelming lethargy, the loss of direction. I talk about trying to suppress it, and how that never works. About feeling untethered, and making one bold move — buying a big motorhome — as a way to explore, breathe, and not sink further.
This is about not hiding from emotion. It’s about feeling it, moving through it, and being okay with not having the answers yet.
Thank you for still being here.

Being Authentic
Tuesday Nov 16, 2021
Tuesday Nov 16, 2021
For over forty years, I wasn’t truly being me. I kept the peace, avoided conflict, and bent myself around the needs of others — but inside, it left me unsettled and grouchy. If you’re empathetic and emotionally aware, it’s easy to fall into this pattern of saying “yes” when your gut is screaming “no.”
In this episode, I share how I began to notice that resistance — and how it led me back to myself. Being authentic isn’t about being selfish or argumentative. It’s about being congruent with what you feel, what you need, and what actually sits right with you. And often, the best indicator that something is off is that subtle, grouchy feeling in your own body.
Let this be your reminder to stop overriding yourself.

Stop Ignoring The Scary Stuff!
Monday Dec 06, 2021
Monday Dec 06, 2021
After losing the horses — and with everything else feeling uncertain — I did what so many of us do: I defaulted to ignoring the scary stuff. I stayed busy doing anything but looking at what was actually bothering me. And let’s be honest… facing fear head-on is hard.
This episode is about recognising that moment — when you’re avoiding something not because you’re lazy, but because you’re overwhelmed, unsure, or scared to confront it. I talk about the difference between procrastination and paralysis, and why facing the gremlins (even just a little bit) is often the only way forward.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. You’re not meant to be brilliant at everything. Sometimes you just need to ask for help and take that one small step toward clarity.

Learned Helplessness: What is it, and what to do when you‘ve fallen for its charms
Wednesday Dec 08, 2021
Wednesday Dec 08, 2021
In this episode, I talk about learned helplessness — what it is, how it sneaks in without you realising, and how to start breaking out of it. It’s something that can quietly take hold when we’ve been knocked back one too many times or when the people around us – often with the best intentions – take over instead of supporting us through.
I give a simple example: if you’re anxious about driving somewhere and someone offers to drive you once, that’s lovely. But if they then keep doing it for you, without helping you rebuild the confidence to try again yourself, that well-meaning help can actually reinforce the idea that you can’t – even if that’s not true.
This episode is about recognising the difference between real support and what might be unknowingly feeding the belief that you’re not capable. I’ll talk about the kind of help that actually builds you back up – people who walk beside you, not in front of you.
If you’ve ever felt like you’ve “just forgotten how to do life” or find yourself avoiding things you used to manage easily, this one’s for you. There’s nothing wrong with needing help — it’s about finding the right kind of help that reminds you just how strong and capable you really are.
🌍 I work with clients (everyday folk, just like you!) worldwide via Zoom, and all my trainings are available online — either as self-study or as part of a coaching package. So wherever you are, if you’re ready to do the work, I’m ready to support you.

What To Do When You Haven’t Got an F’ing Clue!
Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
When everything feels like a mess and you’ve no idea where to start, begin here. In this episode, I bring you back to one of the simplest but most effective tools: the big sheet of paper exercise. Brain-dump every part of your life, acknowledge the chaos, and give yourself permission to feel drained. It’s not pretty — but it works.

Thursday Mar 03, 2022
Thursday Mar 03, 2022
You know when you are feeling under the weather, and that has a knock on effect to your mental wellbeing - you might get grouchy, you can't think straight...which makes you more grouchy! And then you feel an odd 'off centre' feeling as well, just for the icing on the cake? Well, that is when your triad of health is taking a hammering
Your health isn’t just physical. It’s a blend of physical, mental, and energetic wellbeing — a triad that needs balance. In this episode, I talk about how a wobble in one area can throw the whole system off, and how becoming aware of these shifts helps you steady the ship and feel more like you again.
🌍 I work with clients (everyday folk, just like you!) worldwide via Zoom, and all my trainings are available online — either as self-study or as part of a coaching package. So wherever you are, if you’re ready to do the work, I’m ready to support you.

Struggling to get back on the work bus after a break… or a full-on life derailment? Yep, me too. Whether it’s post-op fatigue or just sheer overwhelm, when your mojo has gone missing, it’s easy to feel stuck, fed up, and frankly useless.
In this episode, I talk about how to stop staring at the metaphorical mountain and start moving again — one small step at a time. Also: are you chasing your goal, or someone else’s? Because that makes a difference too.
