My biggest wish for you all moving into the new year is that you take the time, invest the energy, invest the money even, into looking after you, into doing YOU.
I shall see how 2026 shapes up, I may or may not continue this channel (probably will - it is cathartic to ramble at you!).
Much love

My Journey Through Survival Mode: The Starting Point
Monday Mar 30, 2026

After six difficult years, I’m sharing where I’ve really been — and how “just getting through” quietly became my normal.
This isn’t about sympathy.
It’s about honesty.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll take you through my journey — raw, real, and unfiltered — in the hope that if you’re in it too, you start to see it… and find your way back.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #2: Recognising Survival Mode
Monday Apr 06, 2026
Monday Apr 06, 2026
You can look like you’re living the dream… and still be in survival mode.
In this episode, I share what my trip across Europe really revealed — not the places, but the state I was in.
Constantly on edge.
Hypervigilant.
Just trying to get through the day.
We talk about fight, flight and freeze, what survival mode actually feels like, and the moment I realised I’d lost myself without even noticing.
And more importantly — how I started to come back.
If you’ve been “fine” for a bit too long… this one might hit home.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #3: Exploring Reactions
Monday Apr 13, 2026
Monday Apr 13, 2026
Recognising survival mode is one thing. Learning how to move through it is another.
In this episode, I talk about what came next — accepting where I was, and starting to question the emotions and reactions that had become my normal.
Is this my gut instinct… or is this survival mode talking?
Am I choosing this… or just reacting?
We look at the subtle influence of other people on your state of mind, the small “light bulb” moments that start to shift things, and what it really means to begin doing what feels right for you again.
Because awareness is the first step — but this is where things start to change.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #4: Handling It With Care
Monday Apr 20, 2026
Monday Apr 20, 2026
Coming out of survival mode isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about handling yourself with care.
In this episode, I talk about what it’s like when your nervous system is still on high alert, even when things are starting to improve… and why rushing that process can send you straight back.
There was grief too — more than I realised.
Losses that needed to be acknowledged, not brushed aside.
Moments and experiences that needed to be honoured, not minimised.
Because sometimes “just getting through the day” has a reason.
I also share how I started to gently challenge myself — tuning into resistance, noticing what felt hard, and rebuilding trust in myself step by step.
And something interesting happened along the way…
As my mind began to settle, my body followed.
If you’re in that space where you’re functioning… but still fragile underneath, this episode will help you understand why — and what to do next.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #5: Learning to Live Again
Monday Apr 27, 2026
Monday Apr 27, 2026
There comes a point where you realise… you’re not just surviving anymore. But you’re not fully living yet either.
In this episode, I talk about what it really looks like to start stepping out of survival mode and back into life.
Letting go of expectations.
Letting go of who you think you should be.
And starting to make space for moments that actually feel good again.
Because when you’ve been shut down for a long time, even fun can feel unfamiliar.
I share how I began to challenge that — gently pushing myself, tuning into resistance, and choosing to engage with life again… not just get through it.
We also talk about emotions — why bottling them up keeps you stuck, and how allowing them to be present is part of moving forward.
And grief…
Not as something to “get over”, but something to reframe.
Because the pain of loss is also a reflection of love — and that love doesn’t just disappear.
This isn’t a quick fix.
It’s a process.
You move forward, you wobble, you go back a bit… and then you move again.
But this is where life starts to come back.
And if you’re at that point — where you’re ready to stop just existing and actually start shifting things — I’ll be opening the doors to The Fire Starter Live programme.
It’s designed to help you take these first real steps forward, with structure, support, and no fluff.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #6: Taking My Life Back
Monday May 04, 2026
Monday May 04, 2026
There was a moment I realised… my life was back in my hands.
Not perfect.
Not finished.
But mine again.
In this episode, I talk about what it felt like as things started to shift — feeling lighter, making choices on my terms, and knowing I was heading in the right direction… even though I still had a long way to go.
The finalisation of my divorce brought a wave of emotions I wasn’t fully prepared for — overwhelming, but also grounding.
A clear line in the sand: this is your life now.
I also share the impact of labels — from others, and the ones that quietly stick even when you think you’ve moved past them.
From always working… to suddenly not.
From achieving… to questioning everything.
And the patterns that come with that — the drive, the boredom, the need for change.
Because who actually says you have to do the same thing for the rest of your life?
This episode is about taking ownership again.
Of your choices.
Your direction.
Your identity.
And I’ll walk you through a simple exercise to help you start tuning into what you actually want — not what’s expected, not what’s familiar, but what feels right.
The Fire Starter Live programme dates have moved, now starting at the end of May.

My Journey Through Survival Mode #7: The Non-Linear Road to Recovery
Monday May 11, 2026
Monday May 11, 2026
One of the biggest mistakes we make in recovery? Feeling a bit better… and immediately pushing too hard.
In this episode, I talk about the reality of healing from survival mode — and why recovery is rarely a straight line.
Because when your nervous system has been running on adrenaline for a long time, the moment that adrenaline starts to drop… the fatigue can hit like a freight train.
I share why urgency became something I had to let go of, how overwhelm can quickly throw you backwards, and why rebuilding has to happen gently, calmly, and intentionally if you want it to last.
We talk about:
- pacing yourself even when you’re improving
- recognising your actual capacity
- planning expansion instead of reacting impulsively
- the cumulative effect of slowly taking your life back
- and why “doing more” isn’t always progress
This episode is about learning to rebuild in a way that keeps you out of survival mode — not constantly circling back into it.
Quietly. Consistently. One step at a time.

One of the hardest parts of survival mode is believing you’re the only one struggling.
The isolation.
The self-labelling.
The “I should be coping better than this” thoughts that quietly wear you down.
In this episode, I talk about why I’ve chosen to share my journey so openly — emotionally, physically, and honestly — and why I keep coming back to the same message:
You are not alone.
Because sometimes just knowing someone else has sat in that darkness too can bring a tiny bit of relief… and a little bit of hope.
I also share how writing these reflections down helped me process what had happened over the years — giving me space to see clearly, understand my reactions, and begin untangling the mental overload.
Sometimes healing starts with something as simple as:
- opening a notebook
- picking up a pen
- and letting the jumble out of your head
We talk about the importance of support, of sharing the heavier burdens safely, and of moving through difficult experiences gently and in the time it takes.
And somewhere in the middle of all this rebuilding came a quiet but powerful shift:
I choose me.
Not selfishly.
Not dramatically.
Just finally recognising that my wellbeing, my peace, and my life matter too.
This episode is honest, reflective, a little emotional in places… and also a reminder that even amongst the hard stuff, life still finds moments of lightness, humour, and adventure.
