Fear: Know Your Enemy
Wednesday Aug 18, 2021
Wednesday Aug 18, 2021
In this episode, we dive into fear — what it really is, where it comes from, and how it shows up in our daily lives. Building on the earlier discussion about the two core fears — not being enough and not having enough — we explore how fear is often at the root of self-doubt, overthinking, and avoidance.
I touch on how these fears link back to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and how unchecked fear can push us into rash decisions... or leave us stuck making none at all.
The antidote? Slow down. Take small, planned steps forward. And most importantly, take time to explore the fear — name it, understand it, and stop letting it silently run the show.

Don't Take It Personally
Friday Aug 20, 2021
Friday Aug 20, 2021
This episode is a gentle reminder that we’re all wired differently — from our intellect and learning styles to our values, beliefs, and how we view the world. When someone reacts in a way that surprises or irritates you, it’s often more about them than it is about you.
So let’s stop taking everything so personally. Instead, let’s try a little more patience, a little more tolerance, and a lot more curiosity about each other. The world’s a more interesting place because we’re not all the same — and that’s something to celebrate.

Quick Mindfulness Tips For Soothing Your Brain
Monday Aug 23, 2021
Monday Aug 23, 2021
In this episode, I share two super simple, do-anywhere mindfulness techniques to help calm your nervous system — especially when you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsettled.
The first is a focused breathing exercise, and I’ll explain (with a little biomechanics know-how!) why most of us breathe poorly and how to do it better.
The second is a sensory-based mindfulness exercise, tuning into what you can hear, feel — and optionally, see — to gently pull your awareness into the present moment. These quick tools are perfect for those moments when your emotional brain is running the show and you need to get your logical brain back in the driver’s seat.

Information Overload: System Shutdown - What To Do When Life Gets On Top Of You
Wednesday Aug 25, 2021
Wednesday Aug 25, 2021
We all hit that point where life feels like too much. Whether it’s stress from work, family, animals, or just a hundred small worries stacking up, your brain and body can reach saturation point — and when they do, pushing through doesn’t help. It just leads to burnout.
In this episode, I talk about recognising the signs of overload and what to do when you’re there. Step one: pause. You can’t fix everything, but you can slow down and start to sort through the chaos. I share a simple brain-dump method to help you offload everything that’s swirling in your head — and begin to focus only on what’s in your control (which I go into more in the next episode).
You can’t pour from an empty cup. This episode is your permission slip to stop, breathe, and reset.

This episode is your gentle (and practical) reminder that very little in life is truly within our control. I explore the three categories I often use:
🟢 Control
🟡 Influence
🔴 No Control
Recognising which category a situation falls into can save you a whole lot of stress and wasted energy. Often, we fixate on making things just right, trying to micromanage life — but the truth is, the universe loves throwing curveballs.
Instead of clinging to control, learn to shift your energy where it actually matters — to what you can influence or take action on. The rest? Let it go. It’s a small mindset tweak that can make a huge difference to your wellbeing.

Catastrophising: What Is Your Default Panic Mode?
Monday Aug 30, 2021
Monday Aug 30, 2021
In this episode, I share a personal example of slipping into my default panic mode: catastrophising. One of my dogs and both horses were very poorly, and I noticed myself spiralling through all the what-ifs, mentally trying to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
This kind of thinking is incredibly common, especially when we feel helpless. But the trick is this: awareness is everything. Recognising your panic mode—whether it’s catastrophising like me, or freezing, shutting down, or going into overdrive—is the first step to shifting out of it.
When you can pause and notice your default fear pattern, you can start to access the rational, grounded part of your brain. And that’s the only place from which you can make decisions that actually help.

Making (Big) Changes: Worries, Whys, and Compromises
Wednesday Sep 01, 2021
Wednesday Sep 01, 2021
Even good change can send us into a spin. In this episode, I talk about how some really positive news about a long-awaited move had me spiralling—and how I navigated the panic that followed.
When big change looms, it’s natural to worry. But instead of sitting in the overwhelm, you’ve got to get back to your "why". Why are you making the change? What’s the big picture? What matters most?
If a worry crops up, don’t dwell—brain-dump it, then brainstorm some solutions (even if they seem random at first). I share an example from my own life: when a part of the plan couldn’t happen—like living near family—I had to pivot and find a workaround that still honoured my deeper goals.
Sometimes the path to your dream comes in phases, and that’s okay. Patience is part of progress. The trick is to confront your fear directly and keep moving forward—one thoughtful step at a time.

A Life Tornado: Making Sense From The Chaos
Friday Sep 03, 2021
Friday Sep 03, 2021
S: There’s a horse munching hay and thumping in the background of this track – real life in action! 🐴
This one’s a bit of a ramble—because sometimes, that’s what life feels like. My horses are still poorly, and with a 2am vet visit, everything’s been thrown off. When life hits chaos mode, the key is trying to reconnect with your centre—that place inside you that knows what you need, what matters most, and where you want to go.
For me, it’s about more than just work—I want to live, and that means finding peace, quiet, and the right environment. So in the middle of this ‘life tornado’, I’ve been re-grounding, reconnecting with what I need.
When you're spinning, ask:
-
What are my real limitations, and what might just be excuses?
-
Are there other ways around the things I think are immovable?
-
What nudges is the universe sending me right now?
Even odd little moments—like chatting to a stranger over a dog blanket—can be guiding signs if we’re open to noticing them.
Sometimes life throws everything up in the air... and your job is simply to pause, and wait to see where things land.

Anonymous: The Faceless World We Live In Still Has Humans
Monday Sep 06, 2021
Monday Sep 06, 2021
This is a gentle, but firm reminder: behind every social media account, business page, email address, or online comment, there is a real human being—with real feelings and a life you know nothing about.
In this episode, I share a moment when someone sent me an abusive message on a day that was already incredibly hard. They completely misunderstood my post and responded in a cruel, thoughtless way. And it was too much.
We’ve normalised faceless interactions. It’s become far too easy for people to behave horribly online, forgetting that there's someone on the other end who can be deeply hurt by their words. The rise of keyboard warriors has created a culture where people say things they would never say face to face.
So here’s the message: be kind. Pause before you post. We are all human, navigating our own silent struggles. You never know what someone’s going through.

Chasing Goals: Don‘t Burn Yourself Out
Thursday Sep 09, 2021
Thursday Sep 09, 2021
When you’re working towards a goal, it’s so easy to get tunnel vision. You pour your energy into one thing, stay laser-focused… and then suddenly look up to find chaos around you. Other tasks have piled up, your energy is drained, and you’re left wondering where the balance went.
In this episode, I talk about the fine line between healthy ambition and burnout. Yes, it’s important to keep your eye on the prize — but not at the expense of everything (and everyone) else in your life. It’s about walking the path towards your goals while still keeping one foot firmly planted in the here and now.
🌍 I work with clients (everyday folk, just like you!) worldwide via Zoom, and all my trainings are available online — either as self-study or as part of a coaching package. So wherever you are, if you’re ready to do the work, I’m ready to support you.
