Hi, I’m Sue Wright — author of How To Get Your Shit Together. These short, punchy episodes cut through the fluff to give you real talk, practical tools, and no-BS coaching. I’ve faced serious life storms and made it out stronger — now I help you build the mental grit to do the same. Raw, honest, and a little bit sweary (because sometimes nothing else hits quite the same). www.coachsue.co.uk

September: A Little Rant
Monday Sep 02, 2024
Monday Sep 02, 2024
I don’t do September. Never have. It’s gloomy, heavy, full of transitions I didn’t ask for – and don’t get me started on the romanticised version of autumn. 🍂 Crisp air and golden leaves? Pah! For those of us with animals and outdoor lives, it signals the start of six long months of mud and misery.
In this very honest (and slightly ranty) episode, I share:
-
Why September hits hard for me every year
-
The realities of autumn vs the Pinterest version
-
How this season can trigger SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) – and why it’s so important to check in on yourself and others
-
Why birthdays, anniversaries, and seasonal shifts can sneak up as emotional review points
-
The importance of letting the grouch out – don’t bottle it
-
And why the shortest day of the year is my version of Christmas
✨ It’s all about acknowledging the low points, digging into the gloom, then finding your glimmer of hope – however small it might be.
